The Women's Dental Association will be at TMOM Marble Falls on February 24-25th!!
Please read everything below VERY CAREFULLY.
Note that the purpose of this form is to collect the general information we need for the event. Be on the lookout for more updates about TMOM with WDA!! We hope you can come and volunteer with WDA!!

2. Created an account for the event as a COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER.

Please only attend with your family or guardians permission. If you are a registered dental assistant, you can sign up as a registered dental assistant as well.

CARPOOL AND HOUSING (optional): We will be providing carpool services and housing; carpoolers will receive extra points! Note: Carpool services will be based upon availability. Housing WILL cost money.
IF WDA WILL BE GOING FOR BOTH DAYS, we will be providing transportion Thursday night for the Friday and Saturday shifts. For those only with Saturday shifts, carpool would leave Friday afternoon.
We would be staying at the hotel FRIDAY NIGHT and leaving Saturday evening.
We will be splitting the costs for the hotel, and the cost will vary depending on people per room.
ADDITIONAL INFO ABOUT TMOM:
Texas Mission of Mercy (TMOM) is a mobile dental clinic that travels around the state providing charitable basic dental care to Texans with limited resources and/or access to care. Local community support along with dental and non-dental volunteers from across the state come together at the community’s venue. Up to 700 patients may be seen during the 2 day events depending upon the size of the clinic’s set up. Our volunteer dental professionals’ primary focus is on relieving pain and preventing infection by providing extractions, fillings, and cleanings. In limited cases, replacing missing front teeth or repairing partial dentures may be available to restore a smile.

Give Kids a Smile, Feb. 24 (UTSD Houston)
GKAS is an annual volunteer program that provides free educational, preventative and restorative services to children from low-income families.
The event will be at UTHealth School of Dentistry at Houston! We are only allowed to bring around 10 members, so sign up as soon as possible if you’re interested. First come first serve! This is a wonderful opportunity to network with students and faculty at the dental school and make your face/name familiar to the school! Our mission is to provide essential and next-step services to restore hope and help end homelessness in Houston. Join us in providing the homeless hot homemade meals and clean laundry!

The UH Women's Dental Club (WDA) will be teaching kids about oral care, nutrition, and careers in dentistry!! This is the first out of many schools that we’re going to visit for our new oral health education program. For the Kujawa Elementary specifically, we will be having around 100 students, so we would really appreciate your help!!
Women's Dental Association - Oral Health Education Program
Our Oral Health Education Program is essentially designed to teach kids around the Houston area about the importance of good oral care and inspire them to pursue a career in dentistry. We hope to revisit them next semester to check up on their progress and see if they’ve retained the information as well.
This will be a great opportunity to show dental schools your dedication to your community, their oral health, and their overall health. Join us in making oral health information more accessible to our underserved communities!

The Women's Dental Association at UH will be volunteering at SmileCon 2022, a dental event hosted by the American Dental Association (ADA)! This is the ultimate event for dental professionals, and many dentists from all over the country will be attending this conference. Participate & get your face recognized! You never know who you'll meet. This is also the first time in 50 years that this event will be here, so don't miss out on this rare opportunity!
Because the Greater Houston Dental Society is working with the ADA for this event, they will not be hosting their annual Star of the South Dental Meeting next year. This means that it will be a while until there's another opportunity to volunteer at a dental convention!! As a volunteer, you will receive a free pass to SmileCon to network, get exposed to new dental technology, and possibly attend CE classes among other dental professionals. One of these classes includes a Women in Dentistry Leadership series!

This is the ultimate event for dental professionals, and many dentists from all over the country will be attending this conference. Participate & get your face recognized!
